Safety Quality & Environment

Safety

EMA are not currently accredited with AS4801 however safe systems of work are implemented and monitored by the Safety Officer who holds a Certificate IV in Safety.

The following initiatives are implemented:

  • Safe work method statements. EMA assess each project for risk and amend and issue project specific SWMS for each project.
  • Prestart meetings are held and documented daily.
  • Toolbox talks are conducted
  • Incoming plant inspections are undertaken.
  • Competency of subcontractors and EMA personnel are validated.
  • Start-up meetings attended by Estimator, Projects Manger and Site Supervisor held on award.
  • Incidents and accidents are recorded, investigated

Quality

Quality assurance principles are implemented through our system addressing:

  • Project Specifics: Start up meetings are held for each project which address EMA quality system requirements. This meeting is attended by the tender team, Projects Manager, Quality Officer and Site Supervisor.
  • Document control
  • Tendering
  • Procurement
  • Construction inspection and test plans
  • Commissioning
  • Defects
  • Quality Plan in progress. (Draft status)

Environmental

Environmental management principles are implemented through our system addressing:

  • Project Specifics: Start up meetings are held for each project which address EMA environmental system requirements. This meeting is attended by the tender team, Projects Manager, Environmental Officer and Site Supervisor.
  • Defence Environmental Clearance Certificate requirements.
  • Waste
  • Fauna and flora
  • Heritage
  • Erosion and sediment control
  • Vehicle hygiene
  • Contaminated sites and hazardous materials.
